The co-current and the counter-current Heat Exchangers of apiMax are presented in this example. Using embedded excel spreadsheets, the calculations done by ApiMax are compared with the respective calculations in excel.
Heat exchangers: While heat exchangers are very simple devices, their heat transfer coefficient is not constant through time and actual measurements are required to verify their performance.
Excel and ApiMax: The user can easily verify the accuracy of the calculations of an apiMax block (piece of equipment) by doing the same calculations in excel and comparing the results. We (research and development devision of apiMAX)
use this method for every new block (piece of equipment) that is added to apiMax.
